Riola Sardo

Il nome Riola viene dal vicino rio Mare Foghe, il fiume che alimenta lo stagno Cabras nella penisola del Sinis è più estesamente nella zona del Campidano Di Oristano.

Come si può intuire dalle caratteristiche geografiche dei luoghi, a Riola Sardo, i bacini acquatici rivestono una grande importanza sia per la pesca tradizionale che per gli amanti della natura che rimarranno piacevolmente colpiti dalla straordinaria falesia di Roia su Cantaru nella zona costiera di Riola Sardo.

Nel comprensorio comunale di Riola Sardo sono compresi inoltre alcuni nuraghi legati a siti archeologici risalenti addirittura all'età del Bronzo. Nel centro cittadino, invece, sono di notevole rilevanza culturale la casa parrocchiale di San Martino e la settecentesca Casa Carta edificata secondo uno stile diffuso solo nell'oristanese in quel particolare momento storico.
