Il minuscolo paese di Saint Rhémy possiede due peculiarità che lo rendono unico nella fitta costellazione di borghi valdostani. Innanzitutto è il primo comune italiano lungo la famosa via Francigena, lo storico percorso che attraversa longitudinalmente l'Europa intera, battuto per la prima dall'Arcivescovo di Canterbury a cavallo del Medioevo. La seconda caratteristica è il celeberrimo Jambon de Bosses, un prelibato prosciutto a marchio DOP prodotto in quantità fortemente contingentata.
